I want to tell you about
what lies unde the snow
to guide you through the empty edge
of my city
so you can aimlessly wander
for hours, gazing at the gray
the sky has stopped
- a frozen cardboard -
Here lie the fires that could bring warmth
to hearths of families and hearts
that could burn down houses
here lies the body of a woman
maybe it’s Liz Norton
here lie the leaves of last autumn
here lie some discarded suntsets that were
no good to anyone
here the thread of winter cannot be untied
here the snow tastes like ash
here you have to get off the trail by a few steps
here is no frozen water, and the howls of Guşteriţa
are frightening, and the night is a bit darker than nights
here dayligh is made out of glass
you don’t have to fear the huge stray dogs, the dirty knives,
the loneliness
this edge is but a dream
